Our client, a leading provider in the concrete industry, is seeking a reliable and motivated Plant Operative / Yard Man to join their team. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone with a strong work ethic and a background in mechanical or agricultural work.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate plant and yard machinery safely and efficiently, including forklifts and other equipment.
- Perform hands-on labor, including loading/unloading materials, stockpiling, and general yard duties.
- Assist with plant maintenance and report any mechanical issues.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized yard environment, adhering to all health and safety standards.
- Support quality control processes and ensure materials meet required standards.
- Work collaboratively with the team and communicate effectively with management and customers.
Ideal Candidate
- Excellent work ethic and a proactive, “get it done” attitude.
- Self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong mechanical or agricultural background is essential.
- Experience operating machinery in a yard or plant environment.
- Comfortable with a mix of physical labor and machine operation.
- Forklift license and Safe Pass are highly beneficial.
- Must live within a 20–30 minute commute of Hanlon Concrete.
- Flexible and willing to work varied hours as required.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in a concrete, construction, or agri-related environment.
- Manual handling and health & safety training.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance on plant equipment.
